Plain Janes with Cheesy Broccoli Dip


Ingredients:
  • Plain Janes Unbreaded Chicken Nuggets
  • 8 oz (250 g) Light cream cheese
  • 1 cup (250 mL) Thawed frozen broccoli florets
  • 1 cup (250 mL) Shredded extra old Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) Coarsely chopped red pepper
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) 2% milk
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) Dijon mustard
  • 2 Green onions, coarsely chopped
  • Whole-wheat bread cubes, breadsticks or crackers
  • Assorted fresh cut vegetables
Instructions:
  1. Prepare the nuggets according to package directions.
  2. Meanwhile, combine cream cheese, broccoli, Cheddar cheese, red pepper, milk, Dijon mustard and green onion in a food processor fitted with a metal blade. Pulse until vegetables are very finely chopped and mixture is well combined.
  3. Transfer to a microwave-safe bowl. Heat on High, stirring twice, for 5 to 7 minutes or until hot and bubbly throughout. Serve the dip with nuggets, bread cubes and veggies on the side. Makes 2 1/2 cups (625 mL) dip.

Tip: Top baked potatoes with Janes Oven Roasted Carved Chicken Breast and a hearty drizzle of this dip for a weeknight main course.
