In a medium saucepan, combine the apples, cranberries, sugar, vinegar, ginger, cinnamon, allspice and salt. Bring to a boil; reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered and stirring occasionally, until thickened and most of the liquid has evaporated, about 30 minutes. Serve with chicken strips or fillets.
