Apple Cranberry Chutney


Ingredients:
  • 2 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and diced
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) chopped dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) white vinegar
  • 1-1/4 tbsp (22 mL) minced fresh ginger
  • 1/4 tsp (1 mL) each ground cinnamon and allspice
  • Pinch salt
Instructions:

In a medium saucepan, combine the apples, cranberries, sugar, vinegar, ginger, cinnamon, allspice and salt. Bring to a boil; reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered and stirring occasionally, until thickened and most of the liquid has evaporated, about 30 minutes. Serve with chicken strips or fillets.

TIP: If making ahead, cool, transfer to a bowl, cover and refrigerate.
